Announcements & Board Discussion:
Budget is looking pretty good, however it will be tight and we will need to hold a spring fundraiser ($5,000) would help tremendously.
Tony LoDuca is out of the office due to illness, he will be placed on temporary leave of absence, dues only accessed.
Gary Myers was asked if he had made contact with Matt Tubbin for password to Rotary website. No.
Breakfast with Santa, working on place to hold it, possibly Masonic Lodge, its available, Shirley will check on cost and get back to us via email. Santa gifts can be dropped off at Dr. Volk’s office- $5-$10 value for gifts, Colleen Locke offered to shop for gifts, get your money to Colleen. Three gifts probably will be needed per Rotarian. Steve Lehmann will try to find out a number for us.
Steve Lewis gave an update on clean up at Rotary Park and also the Canoe event/race scheduled for third Saturday in May. Motion was made at Board meeting to allocate $1000 to this project for seed money for t-shirts, prizes, etc. Suggestion: that Leinenkugel might sponsor something for the event. Also suggested was to have the Beer & Wine tasting event that same day. This event would tie in with a fresh water project in Africa. It was suggested that Dr. Uhl’s son who is in Africa join a Rotary club then we could get matching funds.
Discussion on Rotary brunch - Shirley wanted to get through the Santa event first. Good discussion from club members: suggestions to keep the price down, cost at $7.50 per person, tying it in with 75 anniversary of our club, holding it at activity center. Paul stated he could possibly find a sponsor for that. Most felt it could be done and would like to see it brought back as it has been a tradition for the club for many years.
October birthdays were observed for Shirley Dempsey and Steve Lewis.
Adjourned by reciting the Four Way Test.
