President Sandee Macht welcomed everyone.

No Student Rotarians and no guests today

 

HAPPY BUCKS:

Pastor Nancy for being on the North Shore of Lake Michigan and tried a closed area which proved to not be a good choice as she hurt her knee and that curtailed the rest of her activities.

Sandy Macht from Steve Lewis regarding his pre party on Feb. 7^th 5pm prior to “Guys on Ice” and for the post party at the Swartz’s after the performance.  Also for the church bells playing at the Immanuel  United Methodist Church.

Ray Krek- State of the State address tonight and Ray & Gayle will be the quests of Andy Jorgenson tonight.

Mike Swartz for the long weekend him and Sandy had in Las Vegas and he brought back some $1 with Thompson CPA on them.

Steve Lehmann for Jim Werner being named the Citizen of the Year at the Chamber Annual Dinner Monday night.

Janet Werner for her Citizen of the Year-Jim.

Shirley Dempsey for the Chamber banquet Monday night and what a great job was done by Janet.

 

January birthdays were observed: Pat Vandenberg and Ray Krek

 

Business Meeting today:

Fundraiser discussed- beer and wine, Del and Jim vl will check into this how much is involved and how many people we need to run an event like this and report back.  Watertown Rotary Club made$7,000 on their event.

Ray Krek suggested selling roses.  Possibly a raffle.  Not an event that is weather related.

 

Discussion on Rotary Brunch.  Motion was made for ticket prices adults-$10, 12-3 yrs-$5, and under 3 free.  Motion carried.

 

Our Board meeting will be Feb. 18.

Student Rotarians: This month the Student Rotarians will be Lauren Gruennert, Lindsay Knoebel and Brianna Kutz.

HAPPY BUCKS:

Del Chmielewski for learning a new hobby-wood carving.

Jackie Myers for their 8 month old granddaughter having two successful surgeries.

Sandee Macht for having a new president.

David Olsen happy with some changes the new president is making.

 

FINES:

None. 

 

President Macht stated the board will meet next week at 11am and asked that they bring ideas for fund raising to the meeting.

 

Program:

Jim van Lieshout introduced Kristin Wallace-Tourism manager for the Fort Chamber.  They have had a tourism manager in place for 13 years when their room tax started.  A DVD was shown with points of interest in Fort which is also on their website.

Student Rotarians: This month the Student Rotarians will be Lauren Gruennert, Lindsay Knoebel and Brianna Kutz.  Only Brianna Kutz was present today.  The other 2 are on a trip to Europe.

Nancy Carmichael: booked a sled dog ride on Lake Superior

Steve Lehmann: spent his New Year’s in Las Vegas with his wife and is heading back tomorrow for the electronics show.

Shirley Dempsey: Had a great trip-first class is the only way to go.

Sandee Macht: had a good trip to England and Scotland.
